Required seller standards

All HatchLog sellers must follow these rules. Seller policies may add protection for buyers but may not offer less than these rules require.

• Listings must accurately describe each animal and show its current availability.
• The seller must follow the laws and carrier rules that apply to each sale and shipment.
• The seller must have the carrier’s approval to ship live animals and must use new packaging approved for live-animal shipping.
• The package must have a secure inner container and enough cushioning to keep it from moving inside the outer box. The seller must add insulation when needed for the species or forecast.
• The seller must use heat or cold packs only when needed and follow the packaging supplier’s instructions.
• The buyer and seller must agree on a delivery or pickup date before the seller ships or releases the animal.
• The seller must check forecast temperatures at both the shipment origin and destination. Both forecasts must fall within the seller’s published shipping range.
• The seller must delay shipping when weather or carrier conditions are unsafe for the animal.
• The seller must use an approved overnight service scheduled to arrive on a weekday. The seller must not use a route or schedule that could leave the animal in transit over a weekend or holiday.
• The seller must allow at least two hours after delivery for the buyer to report that an animal arrived dead. If the buyer followed the agreed delivery instructions and provides clear photos or video within the claim window, the seller must provide a refund or replacement.
• If the seller cannot complete the sale, the seller must refund all payments received for that sale.
• If the seller cannot ship on the agreed date, the buyer may agree to another date or cancel the sale for a full refund.

Shipping and pickup

The seller ships only when forecast temperatures at both the shipment origin and destination are between 38°F and 85°F.

Animal descriptions

Photos show the listed animal unless the listing says otherwise. The seller provides the sex, weight, morph, traits, and lineage shown in each listing. Color and fired state may look different under other lighting or conditions. Ask the seller about any detail that matters to you before paying.

Registry and lineage

An animal is listed as registered only when it has an RC code. The code links to the animal’s public record in The Reptile Club Registry.

Buyer responsibilities

Before buying, check whether the law allows you to buy, keep, and receive the animal at your location. After delivery or pickup, you are responsible for housing, care, and veterinary costs unless the seller’s guarantee says otherwise.
